Schezwan Chili Paneer

Prep time: 15 Minutes
Cook time: 15 Minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • Paneer, Cubed – 14 oz
  • Cornstarch – 1/3 cup
  • All-Purpose Flour – 2 tbsp
  • Bell Peppers, Diced – 2
  • Onion, Diced – 1
  • Garlic, Minced – 4 cloves
  • My Sauce Lab Schezwan – 5 tbsp
  • Soy Sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Vegetable Oil – for frying
  • Green Onion, Sliced – for garnish
  • Salt – to taste

Directions

  1. Toss the paneer cubes with the cornstarch, flour, a splash of water, and a pinch of salt until lightly coated.
  2. Heat about half an inch of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the paneer for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Pour off all but 2 tbsp of oil. Stir-fry the garlic, onion, and bell peppers over high heat for 3 minutes — keep them crunchy.
  4. Add the Schezwan sauce and soy sauce, tossing to coat the vegetables.
  5. Add the fried paneer and toss quickly, no more than a minute, so it stays crisp.
  6. Garnish with green onion and serve hot as a starter or with fried rice.
